Our vegan food festival will be bringing an exciting fresh and flavoursome interpretation to veganism. Head Chef, Vinod Singh has created a menu inspired from his childhood featuring the up and coming super cereal ragi. Generations ago many Indians in the southern part of the country ate ragi in many variations which provides a lot of health benefits which are now over looked. Pushkar will be bringing this new trend to the fine dining market promoting its nutritional benefits such as high protein content, rich source of minerals containing 5-10 times more calcium than other cereals, its ability to help control diabetes and its anti-microbial, anti-cancer and anti-aging potential. Because of all these benefits ragi is now becoming more renown and is popular in celebrity diets for a healthy lifestyle. The festival will also feature a variety of dishes proving vegan food can be just as exciting and will be accompanied by a vegan drinks menu.
Our Indochinese Food Festival, which launched on the 23rd October, will run until 12th November!
After the huge success of the Indochinese themed festival at our sister restaurant PRAZA earlier this year, we will be celebrating the fusion of Chinese and Indian food with our own selection of Indochinese dishes.
Indochinese cuisine is the Indian adaptation of Chinese cooking techniques and seasonings and is believed to have been developed by the small Chinese community that lived in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) for over a century. The amalgamation of Chinese and Indian flavour seamlessly marries together to create a wholly unique culinary experience.
Tickling the taste buds of Indian and Chinese food lovers alike, our Indochinese Food Festival will see the return of best-selling cuisine served at PRAZA earlier this year, such as the Indian Chinese street food classic, Chinese Bhel and the flavoursome Vegetable Manchurian, along with new dishes entirely exclusive to Pushkar.
“We’re extremely excited to bring back our Indochinese Food Festival to Pushkar. We always strive to bring something new to the table, presenting new tastes and flavours for our guests.” – Rai Singh, Creative Director at Pushkar.
Pushkar’s White and Gold Gala raises £7000 for Caudwell Children, a national disabled children’s charity
We’ve raised an impressive £7000 for Caudwell Children (a national charity that provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families) at our recent White and Gold Gala event. The glamorous gala evening of fine dining and entertainment was hosted in a bid to raise as much money as possible for the charity, aiding them in transforming children’s lives across the UK.
The evening began with red carpet arrivals, accompanied with drinks and canapes, before a grand three course meal was served. Guests were treated to a fantastic range of entertainment, including a performance from 2006 x-factor contestant, Jonathan Bremner.
We also had a special visit from this year’s The Apprentice contestant, James White! James, who comes from Birmingham, is one of the most controversial characters on this year’s show and has already proven himself to be a formidable contestant to win billionaire business mogul and Amstrad founder Lord Alan Sugar’s approval.
In addition to funds raised through ticket sales, we hosted live auctions and raffles throughout the evening to gather as much money as possible for Caudwell Children charity.
“I’d like to thank everyone who came along to our White and Gold Gala, it really was a spectacular evening. The money we were able to raise collectively for Caudwell Children will make a huge difference to the lives of many children. We hope all of our guests enjoyed themselves as much as we did!” Rai Singh, Pushkar’s Creative Director.
“It was a fantastic evening and we can’t thank those at Pushkar Cocktail Bar and Dining enough for fundraising for the charity in this way. Every single penny that they’ve raised will go directly to the children that we support in the midlands.” Kerrie Davies, Head of Events at Caudwell Children.
We added ‘The Best of Birmingham’ award to our list of accolades at the 7th annual English Curry Awards on 21st August 2017.
Many personalities from the hospitality industry gathered at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly hotel to celebrate, reward and highlight the unsung heroes behind the UK’s favourite dish. Attendees enjoyed a glittering ceremony with great food and entertainment while finding out which were the best curry houses of 2017.
With approximately 25 million curries being consumed each week, the English Curry Awards has become a key fixture on the UK social calendar, lauded as a national institution in its own right. The nomination process invited members of the public to nominate their favourite curry restaurants for a deserving accolade.
“We’re absolutely over the moon to have won another English Curry Award. Birmingham’s culinary scene is one of the richest in the world when it comes to curry establishments, and so to be awarded ‘The Best of Birmingham’, out of so many great curry greats, is such an honour. We are always proud to represent Birmingham and the Midlands. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us through the years and we could not have done this without the amazing team behind Pushkar.” Rai Singh, Pushkar’s Creative Director.

Pushkar is seven years old on Saturday 12th November!
Time flies when you’re having fun, as they say, and that’s certainly been the case with Pushkar over the last seven years. We’ve created some wonderful memories and had many achievements and successes that we are immensely proud of.
From starting up in 2009 and taking the traditional notion of the curry house to new heights in Birmingham with our stylish and luxurious restaurant and fine Indian cuisine, seeing friends and families enjoying each other’s company in our restaurant, businesses flourish through our networking events, watching marriage proposals become wedding anniversaries to winning our first awards and going onto to win our first British Curry award last year, setting up our second restaurant, PRAZA Edgbaston, and launching Pushkar Events this year, it truly has been a wonderful journey.
We’d love for you to join us on Saturday to raise a toast for our 7th Birthday and celebrate our amazing journey so far with us. You may even be the lucky receiver of a special VIP prize…
If you do come along to celebrate, please share your pictures on social media with the hashtag #PushkarAt7 and tag us so we can see and share all of your Pushkar memories in the making!
We can’t wait to celebrate with you on Saturday and we look forward to many more years of Pushkar glam.
